Bhasker Reddy, Managing Director, has been to Ithaca, United States, to attend US Module on Food and Agri Business Management Program - a highly successful annual executive development program that brings together high-level policy planners, food industry CEOs, academic faculty, and leaders from nongovernmental organizations from India and neighboring countries in collaborations between Cornell-Sathguru and the Agriculture and Food industry stakeholders from some Asian regions.
The purpose is to understand the new technologies in Food business, Meet the Heads of food industries for exchange of knowledge, Enrich the business skills and capabilities, Understand intigrities of Cold chain management and to Explore / Scan the opportunities in Food processing and Agri related businesses are the few to name.….
Annual Conclave
The 5th Annual Conclave was successfully organized at Hyderabad during 27th and 28th April, 2009. The theme of this Annual Conclave is declared to be “Market Leadership through Sustainable Growth”. It was a great beginning with the valuable speech by the Managing Director welcoming the new JERSEYlites who joined the JERSEY family and also wished those who left the organization for better prospects. It was a very happy occasion to declare that the organization had achieved 385 crores of turnover, approximately, and has to focus on the improvement of operational performance.
At this great event, key personnel from various SBUs and Corporate had participated and shared their achievements for the year 2008-2009, expressing their plan of action for the year 2009-2010 of their areas and functions.
The guest speaker, Mr. M Gopalakrishna, IAS (Retd.) had shared his thoughts and experience in the areas of “Leadership and Change Management”, which was applauded by all the participants.
Various awards have been presented to the selected individuals and SBUs based on pre-defined parameters for their performances during 2008 – 09.
ANUGA FOODTECH
The Technical Director and the Director – HR, Procurements & Inputs were been to a World familiar trade fair for food and drink technology “Anuga Food Tec – Cologne, Germany during the month of March 2009. Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden are the countries visited during the voyage. DeLaval and Tetrapak were the companies visited to name a few….
Corporate Office Building
A new Corporate Office Building is under construction in a business bay of Somajiguda, Hyderabad in a net area of 633sq.yds. Construction began during April 2008 and is expected to be completed and ready for occupation in July 2009. The building architect and Engineers are M/s. Nandu Associates, Hyderabad and the primary contractor is M/s. A. Vigneswar Rao & Co. The complete budget for the Corporate Building project is Rs.4 cr. includes modular interiors and furniture. The total number of floors is 5 with an area of 25000 ft2.
Turnover jumps…
The Company has posted a turnover of about Rs 94.66 Crores for the Fourth quarter ended by March, 2009, against Budgeted Turnover of Rs.107.08 Crores with a deficit of 11.60% over the Budget.
Turnover for the corresponding period in the previous year was Rs 90.15 crores and registered a growth of about 5.00% Average Sales Volume for the 4th quarter is 3,88,468 LPD and registered a growth of about 7.60% over corresponding period in the previous year, 12.91% deficit over budgeted volume.
The Company has posted a turnover of about Rs.384.21 crores during the current financial year 2008-09. Turnover for the corresponding previous year was Rs.334.08 crores and registered a growth of about 15.01%.
Average Sales Volume during the current financial year is 3,85,906 LPD which has also registered a growth of about 8.21% over corresponding previous year. Deficit for the current financial year is about 11.12% over budgeted volume.
Training Programs
1.Director – HR, P & I and Advisor – Procurement were attended XXXVII Dairy Industry Conference conducted by Indian Dairy Association, Mumbai
2.Sr. Manager – Maintenance, Uppal, attended a Workshop on Adoption of energy efficient process technologies & practices and implantation of Energy Conservation Act 2001 in Dairy Sector being conducted by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Mumbai.
3.Hyderbad, Vijayawada and Bangalore staff went to a program on Sensitization on Food Safety Systems being conducted by CII, Hyderabad.
4.Director – HR attended World HRD Congress conducted by Indira Group of Institutes, Mumbai

DNV recommends ISO 22000 certification
DNV, the accredited agency for ISO 22000 certification, has recommended Powder Plant (Ongole) for the certification. DNV team has conducted final audit at Powder Plant on 8/1/08 for ISO 22000 certification and the team after satisfying with the systems installed, the processes adopted and the quality parameters being followed at the Plant has recommended it for certification. This is the third unit of Creamline Dairy that will be receiving ISO 22000 certification. Uppal Plant and Orakkadu Plant are the first two plants to have been certified so...

CORNELL VISIT
Students and representatives from the Cornell University, US, have visited the Uppal plant on January 16th 2009, w2009, along with the Sathguru management consultants, who represents Cornell university college of Agricultural & Life Science, who provided an international program INTAG 602 – Agriculture in the developing nations II. The objective of this course is to gain acquaintance with the agricultural and rural development through a first hand observation in India. Technical Advisor has given the details of wide range of our milk & milk products supplied to the consumers in the 4 states to their satisfaction with day to day improvements in the working in all the plants.
